“Our calling shouldn’t be a burden and we don’t need to do anything but love God & People.”
I agree that your calling shouldn’t be a “burden” per-say, but our existence and our heavenly rewards are based more on what we do with what we’ve been given. In Matt. 22:14, it states “many are called, but few are chosen.” The word called studied out means exactly how we use it “a divine appointment to a position” and so forth. The word “chosen” in this context means something very interesting when talking about callings, it literally means, “the Messiah is called “elect”, as appointed by God to the most exalted office conceivable. 

choice, select, i.e. the best of its kind or class, excellence preeminent: applied to certain individual Christians.” How can there be “best” or “excellence” if there’s nothing to do and God is going to do it all? We are partners WITH God and Christ Jesus, not entitled moochers and spoiled brats. There’s a lot of false teaching today that we are supposed to “just love God and love people” while that is a very true aspect of our faith, making it the sole gospel is error. And, if you look into it deeper it is really just an offshoot of politics in America believing we are owed government money, free education, free housing, etc simply for breathing. That ideology has tainted and crippled the church from being who it is called to be!

Here are just a few of the many scriptures that really show that there’s more to our lives than the complacency so many are embracing and promoting!
     “I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, “Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I’ll handle the works department.” Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove. Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?

Wasn’t our ancestor Abraham “made right with God by works” when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar? Isn’t it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are “works of faith”? The full meaning of “believe” in the Scripture sentence, “Abraham believed God and was set right with God,” includes his action. It’s that mesh of believing and acting that got Abraham named “God’s friend.” Is it not evident that a person is made right with God not by a barren faith but by faith fruitful in works?  
The same with Rahab, the Jericho harlot. Wasn’t her action in hiding God’s spies and helping them escape—that seamless unity of believing and doing —what counted with God? The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.” – ‭‭James‬ ‭2:18-26‬ ‭MSG‬‬

“FOR THE kingdom of heaven is like the owner of an estate who went out in the morning along with the dawn to hire workmen for his vineyard. After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And going out about the third hour (nine o’clock), he saw others standing idle in the marketplace; And he said to them, You go also into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will pay you. And they went. He went out again about the sixth hour (noon), and the ninth hour (three o’clock) he did the same. And about the eleventh hour (five o’clock) he went out and found still others standing around, and said to them, Why do you stand here idle all day? They answered him, Because nobody has hired us. He told them, You go out into the vineyard also and you will get whatever is just and fair. When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, Call the workmen and pay them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with the first. “We must work the works of Him Who sent Me and be busy with His business while it is daylight; night is coming on, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s Light.” – ‭‭John‬ ‭9:4-5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The Great Commission…. 

“And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race]. He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned. And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well. So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and He sat down at the right hand of God. [Ps. 110:1.] And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Our call should not be a burden, yes. And everything we do should be motivated, or one translation says activated, by love. So loving God and loving people should be the heart BEHIND our righteous works. There is a job to be done, there are works to be done, and there are rewards to be gained in heaven based on our works and motivation here in this life (LOTS of scripture in the Bible to support that). Let us boldly and actively run the race set before us with persistence! 

“THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
